Skov Playbooks
A downloadable playbook collection
This is a compilation of five Blades in the Dark playbooks of Skovlan origin, used in the Desperate Attune podcast (https://desperateattune.podbean.com/).
The inspiration behind them is basically mining Nordic history - from the Viking era to the 1808 winter war to the labor union movements of the early 1900s - and mashing them all together in an anachronistic stew where anarchists take on the mantle of berserk rage, the skalds write inflammatory tracts, and the Deathlands are walked by one-eyed strangers. Herein you will find the following five playbooks:
The Bearsark, an anarchist and insurgent against the Akorosi empire, drawing on old myths of snarling, bestial warriors.
The Draug, a ritually dead outcast who walks with ghosts and is branded as honorless and dangerous.
The Skald, a poet, rabble-rouser and investigative journalist bringing truth and falsehood in equal measure.
The Storman, a politician of the old guard, predating industry, committees, and corporations, from the days when oath and honor ruled in Skovlan.
The Walker, a mysterious wanderer who has mastered the art of blending into a crowd, bringing strange blessings from the wilderness.
All five playbooks are complete with new special abilities, (mostly) new items, and a list of contacts inspired by the same ahistorical blend.
These playbooks are a fan project and not officially sanctioned by John Harper or Evil Hat Productions.
Blades in the Dark is property of John Harper and One Seven Design.
